Shoutout to Trevor Alexander at Conestoga for organizing a tour for our 7th graders of the ethanol plant in Garden City. The classroom portion of the visit was very informative and directly tied to the content that our kiddos just covered. Seeing the behind the scenes tour was very eye opening for our kids. Thanks again!

We competed in the FHSU Math Relays today! In Using Number Sense, the Sophomore team (Aryn Michaelis, Emma Miller, Blake Walker) got 10th place. In Algebraic Manipulations, the Freshman team (Claire Barnhardt, Jersey Gonzalez, Joel Marquez) got 9th place. In Informal Geometry, Measurement, the Sophomore team got 5th place, and the Senior team (Colter Oldham, Marieke Van Der Knaap, Jan Walker) got 10th place. In Applications of Algebra, Arithmetic, the Senior team got 2nd place. Overall, among the 2A/3A schools, Lakin got 9th place.

Biology students performed a lab using different tools like tongs, tweezers, droppers, and binder clips to pick items up. The tools represented different types of bird beaks. They had to pick rice out of dirt, pull staples out of cardboard, and move nectar, just to name a few.

Congrats to Jessy Chaney and Cameron Culbertson. They were each recipients of a $1000 scholarship to GCCC at Exploration Day today!

Shout out to Paityn Ansel. She had the opportunity to help with the EMR/EMT sessions today at Exploration Day at GCCC. She is currently in the EMR program and attends class at GCCC in the afternoons.
