Lakin Bronc Activities Weekly Schedule - September 21 - 26

Lakin XC enjoyed another outstanding day at a large meet in Hugoton on Saturday! The girls finished 2nd, and the boys placed 3rd out of 19 teams. Three high school boys earned medals: Miles (5th), Gavin (6th), and Josiah (13th). On the high school girls’ side, Kate Miller (2nd) and Jeci Mead (4th) were medalists. The middle school teams also had a fantastic showing, with Jonathan Gannet winning 1st place and Luke Miller finishing 8th. For the middle school girls, Kirbe Koons (9th) and Joleigh Lohman-Fuller (10th) earned medals as well. Altogether, 15 Broncs set new personal records!

This week, First Grade read Waiting for the Biblioburro and we've been learning about how people around the world get access to books in different ways. Today, we had a very special guest visit our school! Thank you Nurse Jess, Toby, and Ranger for bringing this to life for our kiddos!

Last week, Emily spent some time visiting with our LHS students and sharing all about the amazing programs DCCC has to offer, college life, and what students can expect after high school.

We love having opportunities like this for our students to learn about their options, ask questions, and start thinking about their future! 🎓✨

Lakin High School held our Annual Community Service Day on September 16th, and it was another great opportunity for our students to give back to the community. Our students worked hard throughout the day, helping with projects, serving others, and making connections with people throughout Lakin. We are proud of the effort they put in and the way they represented Lakin High School. A big thank you to all of the community members and organizations who welcomed our students and allowed us to help. We appreciate the opportunity to give back and continue building strong connections within our community. It’s Always A Great Day To Be A Bronc!

We love when our Middle School Principal, Mr. Calkins, and High School Principal, Mr. Heydman, visit LGS! There’s something so special about seeing them spend time with our students, share smiles and laughter, and be part of the moments that make USD 215 so great! 💜

A big thank you to the LHS Cheerleaders for welcoming our students into school and bringing so much energy and school spirit to our Pep Rally! 📣💜We appreciate you helping make it such a fun and memorable day for our students!

LGS was honored to present at the MTSS Symposium and share our KMP journey! Mrs. Heier, Mrs. Holmes, Mrs. Burns, and Mrs. Bamberger had an amazing opportunity to learn from national experts, connect with educators from across the state, and bring new ideas back to LGS.

Hungry Hippo was a hit!

Miss Manly's Advisory and some of Mrs. Wright's Advisory spent Community Service Day helping a member of the community with some yard work, a business in the community with some yard work, cleaning out the barn at the museum, and a bit of fixing signs at the school.

The LGS staff is crushing it at their KMP Math presentation at the MTSS TASN conference... I think I even heard Mrs. Burns snap! Pretty neat to see the work our staff does for on a daily basis for our kids being showcased. They have all made the decision to help kids get better every day! #ForwardTogether

Community Service day at the High School! Mrs. Anderson's class went and helped the PRIDE Committee and joined another group to help clean up a local property in town! It's a great day to be a Bronc!
