Greetings, USD 215 Families:
Thank you for your continued support of our students, staff, and school community. We are excited to share some information with you about a recently approved opportunity for our district to temporarily expand and enhance our supply of available substitute teachers.
Due to the recent and unprecedented shortage of substitute teachers available to schools across Kansas during the COVID-19 pandemic, our Kansas State Board of Education recently and unanimously approved an emergency declaration that allows the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) to issue a Temporary Emergency Authorized License from now through June 1, 2022 to applicants who meet the following criteria:
Must be at least 18 years old
Have a high school diploma
Must undergo and pass the KSDE background check
Must provide verification from a hiring education system’s chief executive office that they are willing to hire that person as a substitute teacher.
Please know that our goals in considering and utilizing this temporary opportunity as a district will continue to prioritize student and educator safety and continuing to do everything we possibly can to not disrupt continuous student learning. We are confident that this opportunity and process will help us and benefit students, and we are excited to work with more people who are interested in serving in this role.

S/o to the Lady Broncs on their second consecutive Runner Up finish at the HPL tournament. Both years they lost to a really good Elkhart team. These girls just keep getting better.
These are the faces of exhausted, yet excited girls who cheered amazingly this week! Their commitment to the team and cheering on their classmates is unmatched. These girls. Their unity. They. Are. Amazing! Congrats Broncs on all your accomplishments this week!
Not even sure where to begin. I am so incredibly proud of this group. They have been an absolute joy to coach. This group right here just became the first team in Lakin history to win three straight HPL tournament championships. HS boys BB wins 72-58 over Sublette. The Broncs advance to their third consecutive trip to the HPL championship game. They will play the winner of SWH and Elkhart at 7:00 PM.

Another great team dinner in the books. Big thanks to FCA for the meal and Coach Rem for the message on “Picking Up The Trash”. Even got to watch the Lady Broncs pick up a big win tonight!
Congrats to freshman, Colter Oldham on winning this week’s D Bach Metal POY Award. Colter had an EFG of 94% and recorded a double-double vs Wichita Co.

Lady Broncs advance to the HPL Tournament Championship for the second year in a row. The Broncs will take on the winner of Elkhart and Syracuse, Saturday at 5:00 PM.
