Important Update on 5th Grade Bents Fort Field Trip
We want to share with the Lakin community that the 5th grade class will not be taking the annual trip to Bent's Fort this year. Sadly, the fort suffered severe damage from a storm in November and is currently closed for repairs.
We know this trip has been a meaningful tradition for our students, families, and staff for many years, and we are truly disappointed to make this change. It’s something our students look forward to, and we share in their sadness.
That said, we’re excited to announce that we will be visiting Fort Larned and the Sternberg Museum in Hays instead. These sites will still offer valuable and memorable learning experiences, and we’re looking forward to a fun and educational trip together.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support of our students and their adventures in learning.
