
Prom today! The juniors, their teacher sponsors, and custodial staff have been working hard getting it ready. Promenade begins at 5:30 at the High School. It will be outside and the public is welcome to come cheer on the amazing looking groups and couples.










*** Core Value Recognition *** Chele takes great pride in her work, especially as she works with the grade school. Chele completes ILT with Kindergarten and is doing a great job at applying and sharing what she is learning in my Teaching as a Career class. She is self motivated and puts in great effort. Even when I've been gone, I know she will provide quality work. Chele was nominated by Mrs. Bell.


LMS Track and Field swept the HPL Pre League Meet on April 10th.

Congratulations to Eric Munson and Kayda Garcia! They are the 2025 recipients of the Lakin High School Alumni Scholarship. Eric will be attending Oklahoma Christian University in the fall and will major in Sports Management. Kayda will attend Kansas State University and will major in athletic training.


FCCLA rocked State Leadership Conference in Wichita! Bringing home medals and representing LHS well. Great jobs ladies, we're proud of you!









LHS Biology got to enjoy a treat after making models of the different steps of mitosis with sandwich cookies and sprinkles. YUM!











English 1 and 2 classes participating in reading circles after finishing their narrative essays. Students receive a speaking and listening grade for this activity.

Colter Oldham set a school record in the Shot Put. The previous record was his own at 58' 8-1/2" set in 2024. I believe this distance currently leads the state in all class.

Aryn Michaelis set a new school record in the Triple Jump. The record was previously held by her mom Mandi Michaelis (Jennings) and most recently her aunt Darcy Calkins (Jennings). Previous record was 36' 7-3/4" set in 2005.
