Thursday, Feb. 28, USD 215 and the Kearny County Hospital will be bringing in former WNBA player, Chamique Holdsclaw to the high school auditorium for our 5-12 students. During, Challenges to Optimism, the title of Chamique’s presentation, she will be sharing her personal and inspirational story of triumph, tragedy and resilience. Throughout her presentation she will promote mental health and wellness while sharing her own battles with depression and suicidal thoughts. Counseling staff will be available throughout the day should students wish to talk to someone following the presentation. If parents are concerned with the content of the presentation please feel free to contact your child’s administrator or school counselor. The Wesleyan Church will host a Community Event after school followed by a K-6 Basketball Camp in the LMS Gym. Please reach out if you have any questions.
