Congratulations to Michelle Cervantes and Orinn Norris for being selected as our Lakin High School October Students of the Month. Michelle is a Junior at LHS. Her favorite classes are English and Art. Her future plans are to go to college and become a lawyer. Orinn is a Sophomore at LHS. His favorite classes are Ag Business and Science. His future plans are to continue his education by possibly going to lineman school. Congrats Michelle and Orinn!!!

Due to us hosting the MS HPL VB Tournament on Oct. 19, classes will NOT be in session in any of the three buildings. Staff will still report for duty.  For those interested in working the event, more info will be out soon on when you can sign up once we have the PD schedule.

Parents and Guardians, The Kearny County Health Department has issued a public health order that goes into effect tomorrow, September 30th. Beginning tomorrow, any staff member or student who calls in or is sent home sick and is exhibiting symptoms of Covid-19 must be seen by a medical provider. If the provider believes the illness may be Covid related and recommends the student/staff member be tested they should quarantine until results are known. If the test is negative he or she may return to school when symptom free for 24 hours If the test is positive he or she should follow health department guidelines and quarantine as advised. If the student/staff member declines to be seen he or she will need to quarantine for a minimum of ten days and may return after that 10 day period if symptom free for 72 hours. This is a legally binding health order issued by the Kearny County Health Department.
