This group of Lakin grade school teachers is demonstrating the district motto reflected in #getBETTER. On top of a new English Language Arts curriculum and all the other things required, these teachers are committing time outside of the school day to learn how the brain works when students learn to read and how to maximize their classroom instruction even more. This program called LETRS is the “why” and Pathways and Wit and Wisdom programs are the “how” of reading instruction. Krissie Christiansen, Amanda Michel, Lacey Bamberger, Kasarah Rodd, Leanne Dunlap, Keyton McCombs, Kayla Davis, Ashley Connolly, Debbi Miller, Jessica Hash, and Megan Hendricks are beginning Volume #1 of LETRS, while Bronwyn Main, Katie Heier, and Carol Panzer will begin Volume #2 soon.
Each volume is a year-long commitment that includes a textbook, additional online videos and portfolio collections, as well as virtual evening meetings. Training is intense, but teachers will improve their knowledge of the skills students need to master: phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, writing, and language.

HS JV Volleyball competed in Scott City. The girls played hard. They learned lots of things to work on and will continue to get better. #getBETTER
Lakin XC competed at Greeley County. Girls took 3rd, boys took second. Jordan, Maile, Sophie, Eric, Leo, Alex, and Austin medaled. Numerous PRs were set in the chilly conditions. A great day to be a bronc.

LMS VOLLEYBALL WINS BOTH A and B HOME TOURNAMENT!! The A team defeated Dighton in the championship 25-15 and 25-16. The B team defeated Meade in the championship 25-8 and 25-4. It was a great day of volleyball!!
