Bronc golf didn't get the team result today we wanted in tough cold conditions but still had 3 kids finish inside the top 15. Kevin Tanner 12th Chris Chavez 13th and Maddux Beltran 14th. Next meet is Friday in Hugoton.

Great turnout for Community Coffee this morning, there was some great ideas brought forth and great dialogue around helping our school #getBetter! Thanks for all who showed up. Our next gathering will be May 15th and the Senior Center. I look forward to seeing you all there!
Horticulture Ag Class is partnering with the city of Lakin to help design a landscape for the triangular raised bed by the school. Students we're out taking measurements.

Congratulations to Anthony Ornelas! He is the 2023 recipient of the Beth Taylor Hutton Scholarship. He will be attending Garden City Community College in the fall majoring in secondary education.

Congratulations to Josiah Ortiz. She is the 2023 recipient of the John and Elene Henderson Memorial Scholarship. She is planning to attend Fort Hays State University next year and major in business.

Congratulations to Alondra Mendez! She is the 2023 recipient of the Bryan and Catherine Elliott Memorial Scholarship. She will be attending Newman University in the fall and plans to major in sonography.

The National Honor Society had a COLD Highway Cleanup!

LHS Track and Field team competed in Holcomb yesterday. Both the girls and boys teams are showing solid improvement. Boys finished the meet in 2nd and girls in 8th place. The team will be competing again at Hugoton on April 28th.

We built gumball slides in Geometry.
It is a good problem-solving activity.
Also, we have been calculating arc length.

We used puzzles to help illustrate rational equations.
Puzzle Tournament winners were Ivy and Kinzie!

In Calculus we calculate the volume of a solid of revolution.
Lemons and party decorations help give a concrete visual.

For the 3rd strait tournament bronc golf got 2nd place. And as a first as a coach all the kids medaled individually. Kevin 3rd, Cole 8th. Maddux 9th and Chris 15th. Kids are making great strides and making it very fun to coach. On to cimarron next Monday.
