AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM- We had a great day yesterday after school with the kids. Huge thanks to Andy Penick for showing the kids his bees and how to make honey. Today is our last day of bowling and then tomorrow we will have some water games at the park so expect your kid to be wet when you pick them up. The 7th through 12th grade band and vocal concert was wonderful tonight! Everyone did an amazing job. The 7th and 8th grade band started us off with a couple of their contest pieces and Pirates of the Caribbean. The High School band played several songs from movies including, Lord of the Rings, some of your favorite Pixar movies, and The Greatest Showmen. We also enjoyed a trio by Miley Roth, Paige Webb, and Katy Mitchell. Then the vocal kids finished the night with five classics.
The high school bands next performance will be at graduation on Saturday.

Boys didn't play there best today at Elkhart but still finished 2nd place 1 shot ahead of Syracuse for second strait week. Kevin Tanner finished 2 and Maddux Beltran finished 10th. On to league Thursday in Johnson
After school program will be picked up in front of the high school today under the shade trees. We are making a trip to see how honey is made and taking advantage of the shade trees. I'll post a note at the middle school also. Please reach out with questions.

Congratulations to Sara Wright! She is the 2023 recipient of the Young Minds Change Lives Scholarship through the American Red Cross. she will be attending Colby Community College in the fall majoring in Dental Hygiene.

Congratulations to Erin Urie and Leo Shelden. They are the 2023 recipients of a Pioneer Communications Scholarship. Erin and Leo will both be attending Garden City Community College in the fall. Pioneer Communications rep, Hattie Rebel, presented the certificates to them.
Huge shoutout to our LMS staff and students for receiving the KSDE "Challenge Award of Merit" for the second year in a row!! This is an award set forth by the Confidence in Kansas Public Education Task Force. Schools are recognized for outstanding achievements and uncommon accomplishments based on the Kansas math and reading assessment results. Quite honored to get to work with such a devoted team of educators and students. Looking forward to a three-peat next year!!
