Dear Lakin Middle School Parents and Guardians,
We were made aware of a threat towards some specific students at Lakin Middle School today. Their parents have been contacted. We take any threat very seriously and there is an ongoing investigation. Everyone is safe. I understand your concern and appreciate your support as we work through this investigation and take efforts to maintain the safety of all students.
Thanks
The Junior class having a little fun while decorating for Prom tomorrow. Big thanks to Mrs. Wright and all the students who have been working hard today to get ready for tomorrow's big event. #getBETTER

Another Bronc Creation getting ready for The Stampede in a couple of weeks. How cool is it that we don't have to hire these projects out anymore? Pretty neat to see our own students doing the work in Graphic Design. #getBETTER

Thank you Randy Williams founder of GCAP (Garden City Ammonia Program) for allowing our students to tour your technical school. This school trains people from all over the world in the ammonia refrigeration industry.

Would like to give a special thank you to Lakin Alumnus Tyler Vanatta, Service Manager at Peterbilt of Garden City, for arranging our tour and Balta Pena, Sales Manager, for assisting in the tour. They explained and demonstrated the importance of teamwork in a successful system.

Nine LHS students had the privilege of touring Peterbilt of Garden City and learning about the variety of careers associated with their business. Shout out to former student Sonnie Altman who is currently employed by Peterbilt after taking the same tour 3 years ago!

Big thanks to Colby CC dental hygiene student, Jentry Oliphant for talking to our students today. Her presentation on dental hygiene, tobacco, vaping, etc. was excellent. S/o to our students on a job well done during the assembly as well.
