2024 6th Grade Cosmosphere Trip is in the books. It was a great day of Space Race History and Rocketry. As always we visited the Hall of Space Museum, Dr. Goddard's Lab, and the Justice Planetarium.










Shout out to these ladies from the senior center for continuing to show up for our after school program kiddos. They provide enriching activities each week for our kids. Please help me in thanking these ladies; Peggy Calkins, Dixie Velacich, and Jessica Katz.

Congratulations to Trevor Ploeger. He is the 2024 recipient of the Bryan and Catherine Elliott Scholarship. He plans to attend Northwest Kansas Technical College in the fall and major in precision agriculture.

Information for Cheer Tryouts for upcoming Freshmen-Seniors!! 📣

Congratulations to Brianna Holmes and Ivy Davis! They are the 2024 recipients of the Lakin Alumni Scholarship. Ivy plans to attend FHSU and major in radiology. Brianna plans to attend Sterling College and major in pre-physical therapy.

A huge shout out to GCCC for hosting 43 LHS juniors yesterday!! These students had the opportunity to tour a few of the CTE programs at GCCC. Programs students could choose from include; Industrial Machine Mechanic, Carpentry, Automotive, Manicuring and Cosmetology, EMT/EMR, and Allied Health ( CNA, CMA, HHA, and phlebotomy). We even got to see a few LHS seniors that are currently in the programs. Thank you GCCC!










LMS track will compete at Wichita County today.

Shout out to Odaliz Garcia for taking advantage of the peer tutoring available for all students on flex days. She is the recipient of a Broncs Brew voucher just for asking for help! Thank you to NHS and the student leadership team for making this possible.
MS Students of the Month are Tatum Rodd and Sahir Villa. These two students have done an outstanding job of helping others, working hard in the classroom, demonstrating good leadership skills, and continuing to be positive. Way to go.

MS Staff of the Month is Cassidy Hickok. Cassidy is our 7th grade ELA teacher. She is doing some great things in and out of the classroom. She is very compassionate, caring, and always willing to help out. We are lucky to have her at USD 215.
