Two of the fastest Lakin times were recorded in the varsity boys cross country race Saturday.

Austin Ritsema set the course record as he won the Rich Randolph Invitational at the Lakin golf course, clocking in at 16:22.38.

That was just ahead of Stanton County's Kamryn Golub, who ran 16:23.93.

Alex Luce of Lakin finished third in 16:42.60.

Guymon High School won the boys division with 62 points. Holcomb was second (109) and Scott City third (121). 

Lakin placed fifth with 134 points in the 12-school field.

Also placing for Lakin were Leo Sheldon (33rd), Jose Acosta (43rd), Eric Munson (60th), Avery Barrera (62nd) and Gabe Cox (69th).

Lakin's girls finished eighth in the 9-team field. Stanton County was first with 58 points, followed by Southwestern Heights with 74.

Leading racer for the Broncs was Jordan Ortiz, who placed 19th in 22:12.27.

Maile White placed 27th, Anne Sophie Van Der Knaap 42nd, and Elina Helwich, Ivy Davis and Abby Holmes finishing 61st-63rd.

For the JV girls, Odaliz Garcia placed fifth, Kayleen Tanner sixth and Shillelagh Kentner ninth.

For the JV boys, Camden Bergkamp placed highest at 12th. 

Other runners were Brock Pauda (20th), Isaac Jaquez-Garcia (26th), Anthony Ornelas (27th) Zael Bermudez (29th), Nathan Estes (39th), Zalador Bermudez (42nd), Chris Ortiz (43rd) and Tyelor Holloway (57th).
