Villa takes third in Syracuse

Golfers took advantage of good weather Monday, competing in Syracuse.
Lileah Villa placed third with an 82 (+10) on the 18-hole tournament at Tamarisk Golf Course.
Natalie Cure of Goodland was medalist, firing a 78 (+6).
Maleigha Budd placed 29th, shooting 114. Lanee Waechter placed 36th, shooting 124.
The girls will compete in the Hi-Plains League tournament in Sublette Oct. 6.
Substate will be Oct. 13 at Cimarron. State is Oct. 19-20 at Tallgrass Golf Club in Wichita.
