Cross country opens in Great Bend

The cross country teams opened the season with a meet in Great Bend Thursday.
The girls finished 10th and the boys 11th in the high school division.
Kate Miller led the girls with a fifth-place finish, running 19:19.50.
Jeci Mead was 13th (21:02.48) and Emma Miller was 51st (23:09.72).
Miles Delgado led the boys. The freshman finished 11th in 17:40.23.
Gavin Dyas was 23rd (18:11.47) and Josiah Sholtz 47th (18:56.27).
In the eighth grade girls division, Joleigh Lohman-Fuller finished the 1-mile course in 6:51.89 for 11th place and Kirby Koons ran 6:54.77 to place 13th.
Luke Miller led the eighth grade boys, running 6:08.20 to place 18th.
Jonathan Gannett was 26th, Kingston Guerrero 31st and Raylan Holmes 80th.
Owen Maddux ran 7:11.53 to finish 32nd for the seventh grade boys.
