Baseball falls in substate

The baseball season ended Wednesday when the Broncs fell 11-1 at Cimarron in the opening round of the substate tournament.
The loss ends the Lakin season at 8-13.
Jayden Johnson got the Broncs on the board first when he singled in Wyatt Burch.
Cimarron responded in the bottom of the second with a single run to tie the game.
It was a three-run third inning and five-run fifth when Cimarron put the game away. Three of those runs happened on an Alex Schlesener homerun to center field.
The Bluejays out-hit the Broncs 9-1 and Lakin committed four errors to Cimarron’s one.
Eli Bemis pitched all five innings. Of the 11 runs scored against him, only three were earned.
Bemis struck out four and walked three.
