Seventh grade track first, second in league meet

The seventh grade boys won the league. Track meet Monday in Elkhart, and the girls finished second.

The boys won with 146 points. Stanton County was second with 126.

The girls finished second with 112 points, behind winner Southwestern Heights’ 157.

Boys results

Jonathan Gannett and Brelund Budd led the event grade boys with two individual wins.

Gannett won the 800m run in 2:25.62 and the 3200m in 12:12.78.

Budd took the title in the shot put, putting 36-11. He won the discus, throwing 103-0.

Armani Salcido won the title in the long jump, going 16-7.5. He finished second in the 400m (57.94).

Jacob Asebedo finished second in the 200m (28.15 seconds) and third in the high jump.

Luke Miller was second in the 1600m run (5:56.72) and the 3200m (12:27.82). He also finished third in the 100m hurdles.

Owen Dyas finished third in the 200m dash and in the pole vault. He was fourth in the 100m.

Malachi Piper finished third in the shot put and fourth in the discus.

Kobe Wilson finished fourth in the 200m.

The 4x400 relay team finished first in 4:14.30. The 4x100 team was second in 53.31.

Girls results

Joleigh Lohman-Fuller finished with two titles. She claimed the 400m in 1:11.97 and the 100m hurdles in 14.82 seconds.

She was second in the high jump, clearing 4-8.

Tayleigh Yakel also won two titles. She took the shot (30-6) and the javelin, throwing 68-5.5. Yakel was third in the discus.

Lucia Davis was second in the shot put (30-0). She finished fourth in the 100m.

Kirby Koons was third in the 3200m and fourth in the 1600m.

Finishing third were Emily Rexroat in the triple jump and Niyia Esquibel in the javelin.

Finishing fourth were Rexroat in the 100 and Zoey Garay in the discus.

The 4x100 relay finished second in 59.88 seconds. The 4x200 relay was third.
