Seventh grade track first, fourth in Sublette

The seventh grade track teams competed in Sublette Tuesday, with the boys finishing first and the girls fourth.

The boys took the team title with 133 points, ahead of runner-up Stanton County’s 115 among 10 teams.

The girls finished fourth with 45 points, Holcomb won the 11-team meet with 158 points.

Lakin boys had seven first-place medals.

Jonathan took gold in both the 800-meters (2:25.43) and 1600-meters (5:29.79).

Brelund Budd also claimed two titles. He won the discus (95-3.5) and shot put (37-2.5).

Armani Salcido won the long jump (17-5), and he finished third in the 100-meters (13.21).

Luke Miller took first in the 3200-meters (11:55.60). He also finished third in the 800 meters (2:41.18) and fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (18.95).

The other win went to the 4x400 relay team of Salcido, Gannett, Jacob Asebedo and Miller (4:20.07).

Asebedo was second in the 200-meters (27.47) and the high jump (4-8).

The 4x100 relay of Owen Dyas, Asebedo, Salcido and Kobe Wilson was second (53.93).

Dyas placed fourth in the 200-meters (29.06) and sixth in the pole vault (7-0). Wilson was sixth in the triple jump (26-9).

Seventh grade girls

Tayleigh Yakel medaled three times in field events. She was second in the javelin (63-5) and third in both the discus (64-10) and shot put (29-10).

Kirby Koons placed third in the 3200-meters (13:24.30) and fifth in the 1600-meters (6:26.22).

Finnly Jones was fifth in the 200-meters (31.28) and long jump (13-1.5). Elissa Randolph was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (20.31) and fifth in the 200-meter hurdles (35.81). Joleigh Lohman-Fuller was sixth in the 400-meters (1:13.24).

The 4x200 relay of Lohman-Fuller, Jones, Koons and Randolph placed third rd (2:10.95).
