Girls 2nd, boys 7th in Hugoton track

The track teams competed in Hugoton Friday.

The girls finished second with 105 points. Liberal won the 12-team meet with 122.

The boys finished seventh with 50.5 points. Holcomb won the 13-team meet with 139.

Girls results

Aryn Michaelis paced the girls with two wins. She took the 100-meter hurdles in 16.62 seconds. She also won the long jump, going 17-6.55.

She was second in the 300-meter hurdles, running 49.8 seconds.

Kate Miller was a double winner. She took the 1600-meters in 5:53 and the 3200-meters in 11:59.53.

She was second in the 800-meters, running 2:38.07.

Emma Miller was second in the 3200-meters (13:01.29) and fifth in the 1600-meters (6:12.11).

Third places went to Jordan McCombs in the 100-meter hurdles (17.54), Isabella VanDerKnaap in the triple jump (33-0.75) and the 4x100 relay of Re-cie Dixon, Claire Barnhardt, Amari Esquibel and McCombs (52.40).

Marissa Aller took fourth in the shot put (31-6.75). Honey Murillo was fifth in the 100-meter hurdles (18.91).

Bri Yakel was sixth in discus and eighth in javelin. Taegan Oldham was sixth in javelin. Atalissa Bradford and Sydny Holloway tied for eighth in pole vault.

The 4x400 relay of Barnhardt, McCombs, Kate Miller and Holloway finished seventh (4:43.53).

Boys results

Quincy Esquibel led the boys with three runner-up finishes.

He was second in the 110-meter hurdles (16.04 seconds), and second in the long jump (20-3.75) and triple jump (42-8.75).

Lakin picked up three third places. Gavin Dyas ran the 3200-meters in 11:02.7, Jesse Lancaster cleared 11-0 in the pole vault, and Aydyn Holloway leaped 40-7.75 in the triple jump.

Cade Berning was fourth in the pole vault (11-0). Miguel Rosales was seventh in javelin (129-4). Cage Line was eighth in shot put (89-0) and javelin (122-5).
