Baseball sweeps past Sublette

The baseball team picked up a pair of wins at home Monday, sweeping Sublette, 2-1 and 6-0.
In game one, Lakin tied the game at 1-1 in the fourth when Jayden Johnson stole home and Brayden Ansel stole second.
The Broncs got the winning run in the fifth when Avery Manzano stole third and then scored on a sacrifice fly from Angel Davila.
Sublette outhit the Broncs 5-1, and both teams committed three errors each.
Lakin got one hit, an Ansel single, but got on base via five walks.
Manzano stole three bases and Johnson two.
Davila was the winning pitcher, throwing five innings, giving up four hits, striking out four and walking none.
In game two, Eli Bemis picked up the shutout, 6-0 with a one-hitter.
Bemis pitched all seven innings, striking out 10, walking none, and giving up just one hit.
Lakin scored three runs in the first. Johnson singled home Manzano for the first run. Bemis scored when Weston Loeppke was hit by a pitch. And Johnson scored on a wild pitch.
Lakin picked up just two hits (Johnson and Bemis). Four Broncs batters were hit by pitches and six reached by walk.
