Middle school track takes 3 of 4 titles

At Thursday’s middle school track meet at Wichita County, three of Lakin’s teams took titles.
The eighth grade girls were first among 13 teams with 106 points. Wichita County was second with 89.
The eighth grade boys were first of 12 teams with 137 points, followed by Stanton County with 78.
The seventh grade boys won with 120.5 points, ahead of Stanton County’s 111 among 13 teams.
The seventh grade girls were third of 13 teams with 101 points. Greeley County won with 118, followed by Southwestern heights’ 111.
Eighth grade girls
Kamry Michaelis won three individual titles. She was first in the 100-meter hurdles (16.94 seconds), first in triple jump (34-8) and first in the high jump (5-4).
She finished second in the 200-meter hurdles (30.95).
Tatum Rodd was second in the 400-meters (1:10.77). Ryann Bamberger was second in shot put (30-11). Kai Calkins was second in pole vault (7-0), followed by Lanee Waechter in third (6-0).
The 4x100 relay was second (56.23), and the 4x200 (2:03.73) and 4x400 (4:54.30) teams were third.
Eighth grade boys
Miles Delgado won the 1600-meters (5:26.86). He was second in the 100-meter hurdles (18.61) and 3200-meter run (11:28.53).
Sperry Blaine won the long jump (17-4). He was third in the 100-meters (12.500) and 200-meters (26.50).
David Valle was first in the triple jump (34-10.5).
Emanuel Valle was second in the 400-meters (58.76), and Calvin Gugelmeyer was second in the 800-meters (2:34.40). Luke Woodrow finished third in the pole vault (7-6).
The boys won titles in the 4x100 relay (51.07) and 4x400 (4:09..11). The 2x200 was second in 1:51.01).
Seventh grade boys
Brelund Budd had two individual titles. He won the discus (108-90 and shot put (31-11.5).
Jonathan Gannett won the 3200-meters (12:22.67) and Luke Miller was second (12:24.36).
Miller won the 800-meters (2:36.53), and Gannett was second (same time but by a lean).
Armani Salcido finished second in the 100-meters (12.93) and 200-meters (26.92). He was third in the long jump (15-11).
Miller finished third in the 100-meter hurdles (19.10). Jacob Asebedo was third in the high jump (4-8).
The 4x100 relay (53.80) and 4x400 relay (5:02.64) both finished second.
Seventh grade girls
Lucia Davis won the shot put (29-2). She finished second in the 100-meters (14.03) and the 200-meters (30.36).
Ellisa Randolph won the other title for Lakin, running the 200-meter hurdles in 36.89.
Tayleigh Yakel finished second in the shot put (28-7.5). Joleigh Lohman-Fuller was third in the 400-meters (1:10.41) and the high jump (4-4).
The 4x100 relay was second (58.44).
