Softball picks up pair of road wins

The softball team went on the road Tuesday, taking two games at Elkhart, 16-0 and 25-12.
In the first game, Taybree Lohman-Fuller went 3-for-3 at the plate, picking up a single in each inning of the run-rule game.
Lakin scored five runs in the first inning, three in the second, and eight in the third.
In that third inning, Kiah Beymer hit a home run and Avyree Greer drove in three runs with a single.
The Broncs collected 12 hits and committed just one error. The Wildcats committed six errors leading to nine unearned runs.
Beymer pitched all three innings, giving up no hits and no runs, striking out three and walking two.
In game two, Beymer hit for the cycle. She blasted a home run in the first, a double in the second, a single in the third and a triple in the fifth.
Lakin outhit the Wildcats 16-7. The Broncs also had six errors to Elkhart’s four.
Sara Martinez also had four hits (three singles and a double).
Beymer had five runs batted in and Lohman-Fuller had four.
Beymer got the win, allowing four hits and four runs (none earned) in four and two-thirds innings. She struck out three and walked two.
Lakin led 9-8 after the first inning but outscored Elkhart 16-4 over the next four innings.
