Middle school track takes 3 of 4 titles

The middle school track teams took advantage of good weather and home field Thursday, with three of the four teams taking first place.
The seventh grade boys won with 163 points, with Stanton County in second with 134.
The eighth grade boys scored 210 points to out-pace Southwestern Heights’ 97.
The eighth grade girls won with 125 points, just ahead of Wichita County’s 116.5.
The seventh grade girls finished second with 127 points, behind Heights’ 156.
Eighth grade girls
Kamry Michaelis won three individual titles to lead the Broncs.
Michaels won the 100-meter hurdles in 17.21 seconds and the 200-meter hurdles in 32.78.
She won the triple jump, going 33-6.5. She placed second in the high jump, clearing 4-8.
Lance Waechter placed third in the 100-meters (14,.51) and third in the 200-meters. She was second in the pole vault, clearing 7-6.
Tatum Todd placed third in the 800-meters. Kai Calkins was third and Briseis Ornelas fourth in the pole vault.
The 4x100-meter relay was second (56.74). The 4x200 and 4x400 teams placed third.
Seventh grade girls
Joleigh Lohman-Fuller won two events. She was first in the 400-meters in 1:12.98 and first in the 100-meter hurdles, running 19.20.
Tayleigh Yakel won two titles, as well. She was first in the shot put, throwing 28-10, and first in the discus, throwing 66-6.5.
Finnly Jones was second in the long jump (13-4.5) and Lucia Davis second in the shot put (27-10).
Davis was third in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes.
Kirby Kimonos was third in both the 800- and 3200-meter runs.
The 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams placed second.
Eighth grade boys
Miles Delgado led the eighth grade boys with three individual titles.
Delgado won the 1600-meter run in 5:36.38 and the 3200-meters in 11:34.45. He also took the 100-meter hurdles in 18.12 seconds.
Valle Emmanuel won the 400-meters in 59.53 and finished second in the high jump (4-10).
Sperry Blaine took the long jump title, leaping 16-0.75. He was second in the 200-meters (26.07) and third in the 100-meters.
David Villa took the triple jump, going 36-1.
Calvin Gugelmeyer won the 800-meters in 2:36.22. He was third in the 100-meter hurdles and the long jump.
Dylan Wozencroft was second in the discus (88-1) and in the shot put (36-2).
Luke Woodrow was second in the pole vault, clearing 7-0.
Jaden Valle finished third in the triple jump (31-2), 200-meter hurdles (31.61) and 400-meters (1:04.23).
The 4x200 relay team won in 1:50.92 and the 4x400 team won in 4:11.67. The 4x100 team was second (51.39).
Seventh grade boys
Jonathan Gannett paced the seventh grade boys with three wins.
Gannett won the 800-meters in 2:36.82, the 1600-meters in 5:48.31 and the 3200-meters in 12:00.39.
Brelund Budd took home two titles. He won the discus with a throw of 106-2.5 and the shot put with a throw of 32-10. Malachi Piper was second in the shot (29-6).
Armani Salcido took first in the long jump, going 19-9.25. He was second in the 100-meters (13.10) and 200-meters (26.98).
Luke Miller placed second in the 100-meter hurdles (19.69) and 3200-meters (12:00.40). He was third in the 200-meter hurdles (34.5).
The 4x100 relay was second (53.61), as was the 4x400 (5:00.86).
