Softball drops pair to Beavers

The softball team lost a pair of home games against Scott City Thursday, 8-0 and 16-5.

In game one, Scott City scored once in the first inning and held that 1-0 lead through five innings. They scored once in the sixth and six times in the seventh, when the Broncs committed three errors.

Scott City outhit the Broncs 11-5. Sara Martinez led the Broncs with two hits, including a double.

Kiah Beymer pitched into the seventh inning, ginkgo up seven earned runs. She struck out six and walked four.

In game two, Beymer led the Broncs with four hits in the 16-5 loss.

Scott City scored four times in the second, three in the fourth and seven in the seventh.

Lakin scored four times in the fourth inning to pull within 8-5. Lileah Villa scored on an error after hitting a double. Atlantis Hernandez drove in a pair of runs with a single and Beymer drove in another.

Taegan Oldham pitched all seven innings. Of the Beavers’ 16 runs, only four were earned. She struck out three and walked seven.
