Softball drops pair at Heights

The softball team dropped a pair of games on the road, 16-1 and 9-0 at Southwestern Heights Tuesday.

In the opener, the Mustangs scored 13 times in the first inning as they cruised to the run-rule win.

Heights went to the plate 19 times in that inning. They had 10 hits and four walks and took advantage of three Lakin errors in that inning.

Heights finished with 12 hits and no errors. Lakin had two hits and eight errors.

Kiah Beymer struck out one and walked four. Of Heights’ 16 runs, Only seven of them were earned.

Lileah Villa and Atlantis Hernandez had Lakin’s two hits.

In game two, the Mustangs scored in each of the first five innings, including four runs in the second.

Heights had 10 hits to Lakin’s two. Both teams had two errors.

Taybree Lohman-Fuller had two hits to lead the Broncs. One of her hits was a double.

Taegan Oldham pitched four innings, striking out two and walking five. Beymer pitched two innings, striking out two and walking two.
