Softball falls to Indians

The Broncs softball team dropped a doubleheader at home Monday, falling 15-9 and 13-7 to Stanton County.
In the opener, the Indians outhit the Broncs 10-8. Maelee Katz drove in three of Lakin’s runs as she and Kiah Beymer collected two hits each.
Stanton County led 8-3 in the fourth inning before Lakin scored three in the bottom half. But the Indians scored three times in the fifth and four more in the seventh.
Lakin committed seven errors and Stanton County six.
Katz and Taybree Lohman-Fuller each had a double and Beymer added a triple.
Taegan Oldham pitched all seven innings, striking out seven and walking nine.
In Game Two, the Indians struck early, scoring four runs in the first inning and three in the second. They outhit the Broncs 8-6.
Beymer went 2-for-4 and had four stolen bases.
Beymer pitched a complete game, striking out nine and walking 10.
In JV action, Lakin took down the Indians 13-3. The Broncs scored four runs in the second, five in the third and four more in the fifth.
Avyree Greer and Nadya Rodriguez had two hits each to lead the Broncs. Kaylie Martinez and Rodriguez each had two runs batted in.
Rodriguez, Martinez and Aubrey Kirschenmann all had doubles.
Kirschenmann allowed three hits, striking out six and walking three.
