Boys open sub-state with win

The Lakin boys opened sub-state play with a dominating home win Thursday, taking down Larned 88-33.
Larned opened the game with a 4-0 run, but the Broncs dominated from there, closing the quarter on a 27-4 run.
Lakin led 57-21 at halftime.
The Broncs shot a hot 60 percent from the floor, which included 23 of 30 from inside the arc and 12 of 28 from 3-point range.
Larned committed 31 turnovers, and Lakin capitalized, outscoring the Indians 41-8 in the statistic.
Lakin won the rebounding, 24-19.
Flo Canac led the Broncs with 22 points. Aydyn Holloway and Jesse Peregrino both had 12.
Cage Line had four rebounds. Canac had nine assists and Peregrino five. Canac had five steals and Holloway four.
Seeded third in Sub-state 2, Lakin will host Southwestern Heights Tuesday. The sixth-seeded Mustangs defeated Goodland 79-68.
If Lakin wins Tuesday, they would travel to Larned on Friday to face the winner of Holcomb vs. Colby.
In the other half of the Larned sub-state, Beloit will face Phillipsburg and Hoisington will host Scott City, both on Tuesday.
