Boys cage ‘Cats on homecoming night

The Lakin boys picked up their second win of the week Friday with an 83-32 win over Elkhart on homecoming night.
Lakin led 24-8 after one period and led 40-17 by halftime.
The Broncs converted 56 percent from the floor, compared with Elkhart’s 26 percent. Lakin was 25 of 43 inside the arc and 9 of 18 from 3-point range.
Latin outscored the Wildcats 48-14 in the paint and dominated the boards with 43 rebounds to Elkhart's 19.
Norian Cantu led the Broncs with 18 points, including 13 in the third period.
Aydyn Holloway had 16 points, including 11 in the first period, which included three 3-pointers.
Jesse Peregrino had 11 points and Flo Canac 10. Twelve Broncs got in the scoring column.
Cage Line had 10 rebounds and Reed Bemis seven.
Canac had 12 assists and two steals as Lakin improved to 11-7 with three games to play this week before sub-state play begins.
