Forensics second in Ulysses

The forensics team traveled to Liberal Saturday and came home with a second-place trophy, just four points behind Ulysses.

Thirteen of Lakin’s entries advanced to finals and four more qualified for State Champs.

Abby Holmes placed first in prose in her first time competing in that event.

Emmanuel Gonzalez took first in Original Oration, also his first time competing in that event.

Zael Bermudez qualified for state by placing second in Serious Solo.

Bermudez and Camden Bergkamp placed second in Impromptu Duet Acting. Addison Grusing and Holmes placed fourth.

Other Lakin finalists:

Jarrod Holger placed third and Tanya Roman fourth in Prose.

Maelee Katz was third and Hilger fourth in Serious Solo.

Bergkamp placed fourth in Informative.

Grusing was fifth in Original Oration and Isaac Bradford was fifth in Extemporaneous.

Grusing and Gisele Romero placed fifth in IDA.

The team will travel to Hodgeman County Feb. 21.
