Broncs pull off win over Liberal

Despite a rough start, the Lakin boys got a tough win at home Tuesday night, taking down the Liberal Redskins 63-58.
The Broncs started in a deep hole, trailing 24-6 early in the second period.
It wasn’t until midway into the final period that Lakin tied the game and eventually took a lead.
With 4:00 to play, Flo Canac drained a 3-pointer to tie the game at 51-51. At the 3:05 mark, he hit a layup to give Lakin their first lead of the game, 53-52.
Aydyn Holloway hit a field goal to put his team up 55-52. With 37 seconds left, Canac hit another layup, and down the stretch Norian Cantu and Holloway were perfect at the line to preserve the win.
Lakin started the game with just two field goals in the first quarter, falling behind 22-6.
Trailing 33-19 at halftime, the Broncs outscored Liberal 44-25 in the second half.
Overall, Lakin shot 44 percent from the floor, but they were 17 of 30 from the floor in the second half.
Liberal committed 19 turnovers, leading to 28 of Lakin’s points. The Redskins won the rebounds, 27-24.
Canac led the Broncs with 23 points. Jesse Peregrino had nine and Holloway eight.
Cage Line and Reed Bemis each had four rebounds. Canac had five assists.
The win improved the Broncs to 10-7.
