Broncs fall to Ulysses

After picking up two wins earlier in the week, the Lakin boys were looking for the trifecta when they hosted Ulysses Saturday night.

In a tight game, the Tigers prevailed 69-64, ending Lakin’s six-game winning streak.

Lakin led by one after the first quarter 15-14, but Ulysses took the one-point lead 29-28 at halftime.

The Tigers opened the third period with a 10-0 run, but the Broncs finished with an 18-9 run of their own to trail by just two after the third quarter. Ulysses outscored the Broncs 21-18 in the final period to get the win.

Lakin converted 46 percent of their shots, including nine 3-pointers. Ulysses shot 50 percent, including eight 3-pointers.

The Tigers outscored Lakin 13-0 off turnovers. Lakin won the rebound battle, 30-28.

Flo Canac led the Broncs with 27 points. Aydyn Holloway added 11.

Cage Line had eight rebounds, Holloway six, and Canac and Reed Bemis five each. Canac had eight assists.
