Wrestling compete in Hoisington

The wrestling teams competed in Hoisington Friday, where the boys placed sixth of 16 teams.

Alex Robles placed first at 144 pounds to lead the Broncs.

Robles went 5-0, winning by major decision (19-6) over Brayton Peters (30-4) of Minneapolis.

Robles (16-1) won three of his matches by fall ranging from 11 seconds to 1:26.

Weston Loeppke was second at 190. He won all four of his matches leading up to the finals, where he lost by fall to Keegan Urbanek of Ellsworth.

Zael Bermudez placed third at 126. He went 2-1 on his way to his third-place match, which he won in sudden victory, 10-7.

Tyler Johnson was third at 106. He went 2-2 in round robin play.

Camden Bergkamp was fourth at 165. He went 2-3 in round robin action.

Eliez Ramirez was fifth at 113, and Santiago Montes (120) and Remey Perez (150) placed sixth.

Gavin Dyas (132) and James Diesel (157) also wrestled.

In girls action, Paiton Talmadge went 4-1 at 135 pounds, getting all of her wins by fall.

Jersey Gonzales wrestled at 120 pounds.
