Girls survive Syracuse

They played the game three days late, but the result was just as welcome as the Lakin girls got a road win against Syracuse Monday, 38-35.

Weather moved the game from the previous Friday.

Syracuse led 13-9 after one quarter and 21-17 at halftime. A 12-4 third quarter turned the tide as the Broncs finally got the upper hand.

Lakin converted just 23 percent of their shots (11 of 48), with the difference coming at the free throw line, where they made 14 of 20 shots.

The Broncs won the rebounding, 37-31.

Aryn Michaelis led the Broncs with 13 points and 11 rebounds, along with four assists.

Jordan McCombs had nine points and four assists.
