The Broncs boys went 0-3 in the Garden City Roundball Classic.
Final round
Tonganoxie 78, Lakin 72
In Saturday’s final game, Tonganoxie knocked out the Broncs 85-71.
Tonganoxie led 24-13 after one quarter but Lakin led 51-50 after three quarters.
The Broncs shot 47 percent from the floor, including 10 of 25 from 3-point range.
Tonganoxie won the rebound battle, 38-23, and they beat the Broncos 19-4 on second-chance points.
Flo Canac led the Broncs with 30 points. Aydyn Holloway had 14 and Jesse Peregrino 10.
Canac had six rebounds, and Peregrino had five assists.
Round 2
Coronado, Colo. 81, Lakin 61
In Friday’s second round at the college, Coronado, Colo., took down the Broncs 71-61.
A slow first quarter hurt the Broncs early as Coronado took an 18-9 lead, but Lakin held tight the rest of the game as they were outscored by just six points over the next three periods.
Lakin shot just 33.3 percent from the floor, while Coronado converted 52 percent.
Fourteen Lakin turnovers lead to 22 of Coronado’s points on transition.
Coronado edged Lakin 32-29 on rebounds.
Flo Canac led the Broncs with 27 points. Jesse Peregrino added 11.
Adriel Clymer had six rebounds. Canac had three assists.
Round 1
Ottawa 64, Lakin 35
In Thursday’s opening game in Lakin, the Cyclones of Ottawa took down the Broncs 66-35.
The Cyclones held Lakin to just 12 points in the first half, all by Flo Canac.
The Broncs shot just 29.7 percent from the floor (5 of 21 from 2-point range and 6 of 16 from 3-point range).
Ottawa shot 48 percent, including 25 of 38 from inside the arc, scoring 48 of their points in the paint.
The Cyclones out-rebounded Lakin 38-20, including 17 offensive boards.
Aydyn Holloway had six rebounds and Jesse Peregrino had four assists.
Lakin committed 16 turnovers to Ottawa’s four.
Canac led the Broncs with 23 points.
