Villa places at state golf

Lileah Villa finished 25th at the Class 3-2-1A state golf meet in Salina last week.

Villa finished in the top group in Monday’s first round, earning a place in Tuesday’s final round.

The junior shot 92 in her first round and a 93 in round two to finish with a 185 total (+45).

In Monday’s opening round, Villa started on the back nine, where she started with three straight pars. On her back nine, she started par-par.

Mya Brown also qualified for state. She shot 97 on Monday, just missing moving on to Tuesday by two strokes.

She also started on the back nine, where she birdied the par-3 11th hole.

Brown parred three holes on her back nine. The senior qualified for state as a freshman.
