Volleyball wins league title

The volleyball team won its seventh league tournament title in a row, going 5-0 at the tournament in Stanton County Saturday.

In pool play, the Broncs got a 25-8, 25-9 win over Elkhart.

Next was a 25-20, 25-20 win over Wichita County.

The final pool play win was over Southwestern Heights, 25-10 and 26-24.

In the semifinals, Lakin got taken to the distance, defeating Syracuse in three sets, 25-16, 23-25, and 25-13.

The championship match was a bit easier, with the Broncs taking down Stanton County 25-21 and 25-14.

In the title game, Kiah Beymer served two of the team’s four aces and she handled eight digs. Aryn Michaelis had 12 kills and Beymer had seven.

Jordan McCombs had 22 assists.

Lakin is now 32-4 along with Holcomb for the top spots in the regional.
