Brown, Villa place top at league

Lakin golfers took the top two spots at the league meet Tuesday, helping the team to a runner-up finish.
Mya Brown shot a personal best 89 at the Wichita County Municipal Golf Course to take top honors.
Lileah Villa fired a 94 to take second.
Syracuse won the team title with 395 strokes, with their top golfers finishing third, fourth, eighth and ninth.
Maelee Katz finished 19th and Payton Talmadge 21st to round out Lakin’s top four.
Next up for the girls is the Class 3-1A tournament Monday in Goodland.
Qualifiers from that tournament will play the following week at the state meet in Salina.
