Cross country dominates in Syracuse

Lakin cross country claimed two team titles and two individual titles Saturday in Syracuse.
Camden Bergkamp won the boys title, leading his team to a low of 33 points.
Bergkamp ran the course in 17:34.26, with Zael Bermudez finishing second in 17:39.93.
Gavin Dyas placed fifth (18:39.48). Blake Matthews was 12th, Tyler Johnson 13th, Kannon Woodrow 17th, and Josiah Sholtz 20th.
Kate Miller won the girls race in 20:50.85, and Emma Miller placed third in 21:06.61.
Claire Barnhardt finished 11th, Honey Murillo 15th, and Amari Esquibel 16th.
The girls scored 36 points, with Guymon runner-up with 55 in the five-team field.
Among the eight boys teams, Lakin’s 33 points finished just ahead of Stanton County’s 40.

7th grade boys: 4. Luke Miller; 29. Jonathan Gannett.
8th grade girls: 4. Tess Barnhardt.
