Cross country fares well in Lawrence

The cross country teams competed in Lawrence Saturday at the Rim Rock Farm course, the site of the Class 6A, 5A and 3A state meet November 1.
The boys ran in the 70-team varsity blue division, finishing fifth with 401 points.
With 503 total runners in this race, Camden Bergkamp led Lakin in 39th place, running 17:50.59. Winning time was 16:23.53.
Zael Bermudez returned from an injury to finish 76th. Gavin Dyas was 88th, Blake Matthews 108th, Josiah Sholtz 139th, Tyler Johnson 191st, and Kannon Woodrow 240th.
The girls finished 15th among the 43 teams with 495 points.
Kate Miller finished 13th, running 20:37.56. Winning time was 19:25.17 in a field of 376 runners.
Emma Miller was 89th, Claire Barnhardt 131st, Amari Esquibel 169th, and Honey Murillo 234th.
