Girls golf opens season

The girls golf squad started the season with three meets to open September.
On September 2, the girls traveled to Stanton County.
Lileah Villa placed third, shooting a 96 for the 18-hole meet (47 on the front nine, 49 on the back).
Mya Brown shot 119 (60 and 59).
Winning score was 85 from Bronwyn Lewis of Syracuse.
In the 9-hole JV event, Paiton Talmadge was low scorer for Lakin with a 50, and Mercedes Escamilla shot 68.
In Elkhart Sept. 4 (the meet was hosted by Hugoton), the team placed third, with Villa leading the way with a 95 to finish third.
Talmadge shot 100, Brown shot 110, Maelee Katz 124 and Escamilla 134.
At Goodland Sept. 8, Villa placed 10th with a 101 to medal for the Broncs.
Talmadge shot 108, and Brown and Katz each shot 125.
Maleigha Budd shot 60 to finish second on the JV side.
