The girls track and field qualified eight entries to state at the Class 3A regional meet in Scott City Thursday.
The top three placers in each event qualified, with the final four state spots qualifying based on times or distances.
Aryn Michaelis won the high jump, clearing 5-6. She won the triple jump, leaping 36-8.25. She also finished second in the 100-meter hurdles, running 15.45.
Alyssa Edgington won the pole vault, clearing 10-6. She finished second in the long jump, going 17-7.25.
Amari Esquibel finished third in the 100-meter dash, running 12.71.
Esquibel finished fifth in the 200-meter dash, running 26.82 seconds. Her time, however, was one of the remaining four best to qualify for state.
Emma Miller finished fourth in the 3200 meters, but her time wasn’t good enough to qualify for one of the final four state spots.
The 4x100 relay team qualified by finishing third, running 50.13 seconds. Esquibel, Aryn Michaelis, Jordan McCombs and Edgington are the listed team, with Isabella VanDerKnaap as the alternate.
Beloit won the meet with 127 points, with Lakin and Cimarron tying for second with 67. There were 15 teams in the field.
