Girls, boys win HPL track

Both track teams came home with team titles Friday in the league meet held in Leoti.

The girls outdistanced Wichita County 166-102 points in the six-team field.

The boys ran away from runner-up Sublette, 208-105 points among the six teams.

Girls results

Aryn Michaelis won three individual titles. The sophomore won the 100-meter hurdles in 15.67 seconds. She won the high jump, clearing 5-4, and the triple jump, leaping 37-1.

Michaelis also ran a leg of the winning 4x100 relay with Amari Esquibel, Jordan McCombs and Alyssa Edgington, with the team running in 50.29 seconds.

Esquibel won the 100-meter dash in 12.93 seconds.

Edgington won the long jump, going 16-4.75.

Emma Miller was a double winner, taking the 1600 meters ini 6:00.1 and the 3200 meters in 13:09.17.

Marissa Allen was the shot put champion, throwing 31-7.25. She was second in the discus, throwing 86-7.

Also placing second were Esquibel in the 200 meters, Sapphire Harris in the 800 meters, Jennifer Cerillo in the high jump, and Edgington in both the pole vault and triple jump.

The 4x400 relay team of Isabelle VanDerKnaap, McCombs, Esquibel and Miller finished second.

McCombs placed third in the 100-meter hurdles.

Boys results

Colter Oldham won all three throwing events to pace the Broncs.

The senior threw the discus 170-5, the shot put 59-4, and the javelin 163-2 to claim gold in all three events.

Ross Rider was also a triple-gold winner. The senior took the 200-meter dash in 23.11 seconds. He won the long jump, going 20-6.5, and the triple jump, leaping44–4.25.

Tyelor Holloway won the 110-meter hurdles in 14.87 seconds and the 300-meter hurdles in 41.95.

He also ran a leg on the winning 4x400 relay team with Adyn Holloway, Austin Ritsema and Adan Vazquez. They clocked at 3:37.13.

Zael Bermudez won the 3200 meters in 11:09.87.

Ritsema took home second place in the 800 meters and high jump.

Quincy Esquibel finished second in both the long jump and the triple jump.

Also finishing second were Camden Bergkamp in the 1600 meters and Jesse Lancaster in the pole vault.

The 4x800 relay team of Ritsema, Bermudez, Bergkamp and Vazquez finished second in 8:55.98.

Finishing third were Esquibel in the 110-meter hurdles, Vazquez in the 800, Adyn Holloway in the 200, and Cade Berning in the pole vault.
