Baseball drops two to Jays

The baseball team experienced something that hasn’t happened all season—losing a doubleheader.
The Broncs dropped a pair of games at home on senior night Monday to Cimarron, 6-0 and 9-2.
The losses dropped Lakin to 13-3 for the season.
In game one, Cimarron out-hit the Broncos 10-5 in the shutout. The Bluejays scored one run in the third inning, three in the fourth and two in the fifth.
Eli Bemis led the Broncs with two hits and two stolen bases.
Armando Salcido took the loss, giving up five hits, striking out three and walking two in nearly four innings of work.Bemis gave up four hits, striking out two and walking one.
In game two, Cimarron took a 4-0 lead after three innings and added three more in the top of the sixth before Lakin got on the board with their only two runs of the day.
The Jays out-hit Lakin 11-6 while the Broncs committed four errors.
Enrique Ortega had one of Lakin’s hits and both runs batted in.
Lakini used three pitchers, with Dru Patterson taking the loss. He gave up six hits and four runs (two earned), striking out one and walking two.
