Girls first, boys second in Hugoton

The girls track team took the team title and the boys were second in the Hugoton Invitational Friday.
The girls scored 140 points in the 11-team field, ahead of Holcomb’s 126.5.
The boys scored 136.5 points in the 12-team field, behind Holcomb’s 148.
Girls
The girls collected five titles on their way to the team title.
Alyssa Edgington was a double winner. She won the long jump, going 16-11.5, as well as the triple jump, going 36-0.75.
Emma Miller won the 3200-meter run in 12:56.41. She also placed second in the 1600 meters (6:07.48).
Aryn Michaelis won the gold in the 110-meter hurdles, running 16.74 seconds. She was second in the 300 hurdles (48.54) and second in the triple jump (36-0.5).
Marissa Allen won the shot put, throwing 30-4.25. She was second in the discus, throwing 87-5.
Jordan McCombs placed third in the 110-meter hurdles and Amari Esquibel was fourth in the 100-meter dash.
The 4x800 relay placed third, the 4z100 fourth, and the 4x400 fifth.
Boys
The boys took eight gold medals.
Tyelor Holloway won the 110-meter hurdles in 15.13 seconds, and the 300 hurdles in 41.53.
Colter Oldham won the discus, throwing 184-5, and the shot put, throwing 59-3.
Quincy Esquibel won the triple jump, leaping 45-0. He was second in the long jump, going 21-4 and second in the 110-meter hurdles (16.15).
Jesse Lancaster won the pole vault, clearing 12-6.
Austin Ritsema won the high jump, clearing 6-6. He was third in the 1600-meter run and fifth in the 800.
The 4x100 relay ran 44.12 seconds to claim gold. The 4x400 placed third.
Armando Salcido was second in the 200-meter dash (23.32), and Adyn Holloway was fifth in the long jump.
