Baseball sweeps Indians

The baseball team took a doubleheader at home Monday, sweeping Stanton County 12-9 and 10-0, improving to 11-1.
In game one, tied at 1-1 after two innings, Lakin scored five runs in the bottom of the third to take a 7-2 lead.
Stanton County scored two runs in each of the next four innings, but the Broncs scored two in the fifth and four in the sixth to get the win.
Lakin out-hit the Indians 8-7, with Adrik Gomez-Esquibel collecting four of those, including a double and a triple.
Gomez-Esquibel had five runs batted in and Jayden Jonson, who had a double, batted in three.
Dru Patterson pitched three innings, striking out four and walking two.
In game two, Lakin took a 4-0 lead after three innings, 8-0 after four, and 10-0 after six to get the run-rule win.
The Broncs out-hit Stanton County 9-3, with Gabe Cox, Patterson, and Eli Bemis each getting two. Patterson and Bemis both hit a double.
Bemis pitched 3 and 2-3 innings, striking out three and walking one and scattering three hits. Armando Salcido pitched the rest of the game, striking out three and walking none.
