Girls win at Wichita County

The girls track team competed in their third meet in seven days, taking first in the Wichita County meet Monday.

The Broncs won with 139 points, with host Wichita County coming in second with 120 in the seven-team meet.

Lakin had seven titles for the meet, led by three from Aryn Michaelis.

The freshman won the high jump, clearing 5-2. She landed 34-5 to claim the triple jump. And she won the 100-meter hurdles, clocking 17.12 seconds.

Alyssa Edgington had two first places. The junior won the pole vault, clearing 10-0, and she won the long jump, going 16-4.

Edgington was second in the 200 meters (28.34).

Amari Esquibel won the 200-meter dash in 27.76 seconds, and she placed third in the long jump. She placed second in the 100-meter dash (13.44).

Freshman Emma Miller placed second in the 3200-meter run (13:54.71) and third in the 1600 meters (6:25.51).

Jordan McCombs was third in the 100-meter hurdles, Grace Ostberg was fourth in the 400 meters, Hilary Cervantes was fourth in the 100 meters, and Sapphire Harris was fourth in the 800 meters.

The 4x100-meter relay team was first (53.95), and the 4x400 and 4x800 relays were both fourth.
