Boys track 3rd in Great Bend

The boys track team finished third in Great Bend Friday at the Jack Bowman Invitational.

The Broncs finished with 90 points behind Andale (123.75) and Bishop Carroll (100). Eleven teams competed.

Colter Oldham led the Broncs with wins in three events.

The junior set a personal record in the shot put (58-8.5).

He won the discus with a throw of 165-2 and the javelin with a throw of 166-8.

Austin Ritsema placed second in the high jump, clearing 6-0.

Ross Rider placed second in the triple jump, going 43-9.5. Quincy Esquibel was third (41-4).

Lakin’s other second place came with the 4x100-meter relay. Maddux Beltran, Tyelor Hollow, Armando Salcido and Rider finished in 44.11.

Rider finished fourth in the long jump (21-6.5).

Alex Luce finished fourth in the 1600 meters, clocking in at 4:44.07. Ritsema was sixth (4:46.42).

Holloway finished fifth in the 300-meter hurdles (42.46).

The 4x800 relay team of Ritsema, Adan Vazquez, Camden Bergkamp and Luce was fifth in 8:54.53.

Javion Granado finished sixth in the pole vault (11-6), Esquibel was sixth in the 110-meter hurdles (15.84) and Luce was seventh in the 3200 meters (10:10.29).
