Golfers successful in first meet

The boys golf season got off to a good start Monday at the Holcomb/Garden City JV Invitational tournament at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course.

The Broncs finished second in the 15-team tournament, held under breezy conditions.

South Gray won the meet with 316 strokes, while Lakin was runner-up with 355. Syracuse was third at 372.

Kevin Tanner led the Broncs with a third-place finish, firing a 78 on the par-72 course.

Gavin Dahl of South Gray won the tournament with a 74, while teammate Jaxon Koehn was second with a 76.

Noah Garcia and Maddux both shot 87 to finish in 13th. Brayson Hoover finished 41st and Jayce Bless finished 71st.

The meet had 88 competitors.
