Girls season ends at Colby

The girls basketball season came to an end last Tuesday when they lost on the road to Colby 58-24.


Midway into the first quarter, Lakin down 8-6. By the end of the period, they trailed 17-7, and by halftime it was 25-13. 


Lakin converted 11 two-point goals and Colby 13. The Eagles made six 3-pointers to Lakin’s three.


Colby dominated at the free throw line, making 14 of 20 while the Broncs were just 3 of 6.


Colby turned 24 Lakin turnovers into 28 points, while the Broncs scored 15 points off 19 Colby miscues.


Colby won the rebounds, 29-25.


Jara Davidson finished her high school career with a team-high 16 points. Aryn Michaelis had six.


Michaelis led the team with nine rebounds and four steals.


Lakin finished the season 13-8.
