Girls drop close game to Indians

The girls basketball team nearly came back in the final quarter before falling 54-47 to Wichita County on senior night Tuesday.
Facing off against the Class 2A No.-4 ranked team, Lakin trailed just 9-7 after the first quarter.
The Indians led 38-24 going into the final quarter. But the Broncs fought back, closing the gap to 47-43 late in the period.
The Broncs shot 35 percent from the floor, but they made 9 of 15 in the final period.
Both teams committed 18 turnovers, with the Broncs outscoring the Indians 20-17 from those turnovers.
Wichita County won the rebound battle, 32-31.
Jara Davidson led the Broncs with 15 points, and Reagan Chavira added 10.
Davidson had seven rebounds and Jordan McCombs had three steals.
Davidson and Samantha Vogel had four assists.
